About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Business Process Improvement Lead onsite in McLean, Va to drive operational excellence across intelligence analysis workflows by analyzing, redesigning, and continuously improving the processes that underpin mission execution. Acting as the bridge between analytic teams, technical engineers, and mission leadership, this role identifies workflow friction, eliminates manual bottlenecks, and implements process improvements that compress targeting cycles, accelerate intelligence production, and ensure strict compliance with mission SLAs. As a Lead, this individual governs the process architecture across all functional mission areas, mentors junior analysts, and ensures all improvements align with the strategic objectives of the Program Management Office.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience with BS/BA
  • 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business process re-engineering, continuous improvement, or systems analysis, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior capacity
  • Deep foundational knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, ITIL v4, and Agile/Scrum frameworks applied to intelligence or operational environments.
  • Proficiency in BPMN, advanced data analysis, AL/ML tools, and experience with ITSM tools and data visualization platforms (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, strong executive communication, and the ability to influence cross-functional mission teams without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with ICD 203 analytic standards, IC Directive 504, and interagency intelligence sharing protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) or Green Belt (LSSGB), ITIL v4 Managing Professional, or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).
  • Prior experience supporting IC or Federal law enforcement analytic programs strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IC analytic tools and multi-classification workflow environment a plus
  • Direct experience supporting counterterrorism, counter-narcotics, identity intelligence, or targeting workflows within the IC or Federal law enforcement community

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and documentation of current-state analytic and operational workflows across intelligence production and interagency coordination functions.
  • Design optimized future-state process models using industry-standard mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, ARIS) and BPMN notation, with direct applicability to multi-database pivot workflows, RFI intake, and dissemination cycles.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on performance bottlenecks, handoff failures, and compliance gaps affecting intelligence-to-action timelines.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and ITIL methodologies to streamline analytic workflows, eliminate redundant data entry, and reduce cycle times across and all-source production functions.
  • Identify high-value automation opportunities within IC-approved toolsets to reduce manual copy/paste workflows and accelerate cross-platform data correlation.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for all mission-critical analytic and operational processes.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs) tied directly to mission outcomes — including targeting cycle time, product rework rates, on-time dissemination, and screening and vetting throughput.
  • Develop automated dashboards providing leadership with real-time visibility into process health, SLA compliance, and resource utilization across all mission task areas.
  • Govern the process lifecycle, ensuring all workflows are reviewed and updated in response to evolving mission priorities, surge requirements, or IC policy changes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops with analytic, targeting, identity intelligence, and law enforcement coordination teams to gather requirements, build consensus, and drive adoption of improved processes.
  • Develop transition plans, training materials, and communication strategies that ensure smooth process rollouts with zero mission degradation or intelligence coverage gaps.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between mission process owners, technical engineering teams, interagency partners, and program leadership.
  • Direct the daily activities of junior process analysts and continuous improvement specialists supporting intelligence and targeting mission areas.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on process governance, analytic quality assurance, and workflow standardization across the enterprise.
