About The Position

As a Business Analyst & Quality Assurance Tester supporting the Duplicate and Identity Resolution Processing (DIRP-II) program at the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), you will work closely with senior business analysts, developers, testers, and government stakeholders to support business, functional, and technical requirements across DIRP-II applications (IRRU, IBUC, IIC, MSID, MDM). This role is ideal for candidates who are looking to grow their skills while contributing to meaningful DoD mission systems. This role is 100% remote.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain DMDC Position of Trust
  • BA/BS or equivalent related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in at least one of the following areas (not all required): Business Analysis: Requirements gathering, creating workflows, analyzing processes, creating use cases, and translating requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Testing: Manual or automated testing experience.
  • Technical Writing: Experience creating tech specs, functional specs, or user manuals (or like artifacts)
  • Project Coordination: Software project management and managing cross-functional team deliverables.
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Detail Oriented and eager to learn
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be a quick learner with medium to high complexity IT systems
  • Must be an analytical thinker with excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • JIRA and SQL familiarity is a huge plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Prior experience supporting government or DoD programs
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience reviewing or writing technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with developers to create and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Create QA test cases and execute test plans.
  • Possess ability to learn and work with QA test automation platforms.
  • Participate in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including use case development, requirements creation/review, application discussions, testing support, and deployment preparation.
  • Maintain and update project documentation (functional specs, user guides, test plans, release notes, etc.)
  • Utilize JIRA to create and manage tickets and create user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support testing activities in development, quality assurance, and user acceptance testing environments.
  • Assist with capturing and distributing meeting minutes as required.
  • Learn DIRP systems and processes and build foundation knowledge with applications.
  • Grow technical capabilities, including data analysis and SQL skills.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
