About The Position

The Business Operations Specialist supports Professional Services teams across multiple Operating Units (OPUs) in a broad range of activities including business development support, strategy facilitation, marketing coordination, content management, and operational administration. This role serves as a key connector, working closely with various functional teams across OPUs to enable execution of key initiatives across business development, strategy, and marketing activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable navigating a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing support, business operations, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Experience in a professional services environment (engineering, consulting, architecture, or similar) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, intranet platforms, or digital marketing tools a plus.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively across multiple business units with competing priorities, different cultures, and varying levels of operational maturity.
  • Strong written communication skills with an eye for translating technical expertise into clear, compelling messaging for varied audiences.
  • Skilled facilitator, able to run productive meetings, drive accountability, and maintain momentum on multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
  • Self-directed and proactive; able to identify what needs to be done and move forward with minimal supervision in an ambiguous environment.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable synthesizing market research, tracking initiative progress, and presenting findings in a structured, actionable way.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint); familiarity with digital or marketing tools a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to quality across all deliverables.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours as required to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of a Professional Services marketing strategy aligned with OPU priorities and corporate direction.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator between OPUs, Professional Services leadership, and corporate marketing, ensuring brand and messaging consistency.
  • Drive internal awareness of Professional Services capabilities across the organization to strengthen cross-sell and collaboration between OPUs and operating teams.
  • Own and maintain the Professional Services social media presence, ensuring consistent voice, brand alignment, and regular engagement across platforms.
  • Oversee the Professional Services web presence, ensuring pages accurately and compellingly represent OPU capabilities.
  • Lead the evaluation and recommendation of the optimal insourced versus outsourced model for ongoing web and social media management.
  • Identify and prioritize industry conferences, events, and speaking opportunities aligned with Professional Services growth objectives.
  • Coordinate end-to-end OPU participation in industry events, from planning through post-event follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain client-facing capability materials that clearly communicate Professional Services expertise and value across OPUs.
  • Own standardized messaging frameworks, proposal templates, and boilerplate content including project profiles, resumes, and standard responses, ensuring consistency and quality across all submissions.
  • Support the development of OPU strategy documents, market growth plans, and initiative activity plans.
  • Track and report on progress against strategic initiative milestones, driving accountability across team.
  • Conduct market research and prepare briefing materials and presentations to support leadership decision-making.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of tools and software critical to business operations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and reports related to business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.
