About The Position

The Business Operations Manager leads internal operations for a California distribution business supplying equipment and materials for traffic signal, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and underground utility projects. The role oversees billing, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and office administration, and manages the supervisors and staff responsible for those functions. It is the primary liaison between the business unit and corporate finance and the local resource for operational questions and decisions. This is not an accounting position. General ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting are performed by corporate finance. The position exercises discretion on matters such as staffing, credit and collection decisions, process design, and operating policies, within the direction of business unit leadership and corporate finance. The manager also oversees inventory transaction accuracy and counts, company asset records, documentation, ERP system use and implementation support, office administration, performance metrics, and process improvement. The position is full-time, based in Livermore, California, exempt, and paid on a salary basis. It is primarily office-based, with regular interaction with the warehouse and internal and external stakeholders. Work takes place in a deadline-driven environment, including responsibilities tied to month-end close and cash flow.
