About The Position

Instawork is seeking a Business Operations Associate to support variable pay and quota-setting within their Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. This role is focused on automating and rebuilding these processes using AI. It offers high ownership and significant autonomy for individuals who can deliver results. While traditional Revenue Operations (RevOps) experience is beneficial, the primary requirement is a strong inclination towards transforming manual, spreadsheet-dependent processes into automated agents and workflows.

Requirements

  • Comfortable using AI tools daily (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, n8n, Replit, or similar) and eager to improve proficiency in directing them.
  • A builder's instinct to automate manual, repetitive processes.
  • 0-3 years of experience in an analytical, operational, or cross-functional business role (e.g., revenue operations, sales operations, finance, business/product operations). New graduates with strong internship experience are welcome.
  • Willingness to learn SQL sufficiently to draft queries with AI assistance and validate output.
  • Strong Excel/Sheets skills and comfort with ambiguous, spreadsheet-heavy problems.
  • High attention to detail, particularly concerning payroll accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with sales leaders, Finance, and Legal.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or project experience with SQL, dbt, or BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau).
  • Exposure to Salesforce or another CRM.
  • A personal, class, or internship project involving building a script, automation, or tool that saved time.
  • Interest in sales compensation, forecasting, or GTM strategy as a career path.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the RevOps team to convert manual, spreadsheet-heavy compensation processes into automated agents, scripts, and workflows.
  • Develop initial projects such as a checklist agent for payout file discrepancies, a Replit tool for answering basic crediting questions, or an n8n workflow for manager approval reminders.
  • Support monthly and quarterly compensation cycles, including data pulling, reconciliation checks, discrepancy tracking, and documentation updates.
  • Assist with the quarterly target-setting process, involving input collection, formatting target packages, tracking approvals, and timeline management.
  • Help manage new-hire guarantees, crediting exceptions, and manager compensation inquiries.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly forecast roll-ups and pipeline dashboards, analyzing coverage, stage conversion, velocity, and aging.
  • Compile data and perform initial analysis for the VP of Sales and CFO prior to Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Support the annual compensation planning cycle by conducting research, drafting materials, formatting documents, and coordinating review cycles with Legal and leadership.
  • Analyze existing team processes and propose specific, scoped improvements.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision plans with coverage beginning on the date of hire
  • Flexible paid time off
  • At least 8 paid company holidays annually
  • Phone stipend
  • Commuter stipend
  • Supplemental pay on qualified leaves
  • Employee health savings accounts (HSA) contribution
  • Flexible spending plans
  • 401K plan
