About The Position

Sizzling Platter is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to focus on execution, follow-through, and automation within its analytics function. The Strategic Analytics team builds pricing models, site-cannibalization forecasts, cost analyses, and automated data pipelines crucial for leadership decision-making. This role involves taking ownership of existing analyses, identifying and building automations to streamline processes, and working with various tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Power Automate. The ideal candidate is curious, comfortable troubleshooting unfamiliar tools and error messages, and possesses an instinct for problem-solving rather than a traditional coding background. This is an apprenticeship-style role with a growth path towards building analyses and automations independently within 12-18 months.

Requirements

  • Comfortable opening a terminal and running a script, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Ability to read errors, experiment with solutions, and ask specific questions when stuck.
  • Deep curiosity about tools, AI, and automation platforms.
  • Willingness to explore tools like Copilot, Power Automate, or Claude Code independently.
  • Ability to conduct short interviews with stakeholders, asking follow-up questions to identify friction points.
  • Self-sufficient in figuring out the initial steps of a task.
  • Organized to manage multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously.
  • Persistent in following up with others to obtain necessary information or actions.
  • No degree required; focus on curiosity and real-world problem-solving experience.
  • Experience gained through self-teaching technical skills is valued.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on exposure to Copilot Studio, Power Automate, or similar low-code automation tools.
  • Exposure to SQL, Excel/Python, or a command-line tool.
  • Experience in facilities, real estate, or retail operations.
  • Familiarity with restaurant or retail pricing and P&L structures.
  • Exposure to lease administration, CAM reconciliation, or vendor management.
  • Evidence of building something independently (e.g., a script, scraper, dashboard, spreadsheet model, side project).

Responsibilities

  • Verify facilities CAM (Common Area Maintenance) audit results against source documentation.
  • Identify and engage with the appropriate stakeholders (landlord, property manager, internal contacts) to resolve audit findings.
  • Track responses and drive each audit item to a documented resolution.
  • Spot-check competitor and internal menu pricing pulls against source data.
  • Flag anomalies in pricing data and troubleshoot failed data pulls.
  • Interview stakeholders to understand repetitive tasks and identify automation opportunities.
  • Write clear documentation outlining the value and feasibility of automating tasks.
  • Build automations using tools like Copilot Studio, Power Automate, or Claude Code.
  • Utilize Claude Code for data pulling, pipeline checks, and drafting automations.
  • Maintain a clear and current record of open, resolved, and stuck items across audits, pricing QA, and automation projects.
