The Business Operations Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial and operational health of Decision Optimization. This individual serves as the primary business partner for financial operations, collaborating closely with leadership, project teams, Finance, and shared services to ensure accurate financial management, operational reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning. The role combines financial analysis with operational coordination, providing insight into business performance while helping improve internal processes, reporting, and overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, project accounting, finance operations, or business operations.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, financial modeling).
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and business curiosity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on broader business objectives.
  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with interest in automation and process optimization

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting professional services, consulting, healthcare, or life sciences organizations preferred.
  • Experience supporting project-based financial management is preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite, or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary financial operations resource for Decision Optimization project teams.
  • Partner with Inizio Finance to support monthly revenue recognition, invoicing, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor project financial performance including revenue, margin, utilization, and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including budget-to-actual analyses and variance commentary.
  • Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Track purchase orders, client billings, and project reconciliations.
  • Support accounts receivable tracking and assist with collection activities as needed.
  • Assist leadership with pricing support for new business opportunities and contract modifications.
  • Support operational planning activities, including resource forecasting and staffing visibility.
  • Coordinate with shared services partners to facilitate smooth execution of finance and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation, reporting enhancements, and standardization.
  • Assist with operational dashboards and KPI development.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop executive-level reporting and presentations for business leadership.
  • Produce recurring KPI dashboards related to revenue, backlog, utilization, pipeline, and profitability.
  • Support ad hoc business analyses and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Recommend process improvements based on financial and operational insights.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Finance, Business Development, Project Leadership, and Shared Services.
  • Support audits and financial compliance activities as required.
  • Participate in special projects supporting the continued growth of Decision Optimization.
