About The Position

Meadowview Behavioral Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Business Office Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of our Hospital Business Office. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, census data, and patient account information while supporting the overall efficiency of hospital operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with data and systems, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment where accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality are essential. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of data entry experience preferred, ideally within a healthcare or hospital business office environment
  • Experience with accounts receivable posting and healthcare billing functions preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and function in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of office equipment including computers, calculators/10-key, copy and fax machines
  • Flexibility to work overtime or adjusted schedules during month-end close processes as needed

Responsibilities

  • Enter daily charges, payments, and adjustments into the accounting software system accurately and timely
  • Process daily census information and review day-end/census reports
  • Ensure accounts receivable postings are current, balanced, and accurate
  • Support preparation and printing of facility management reports as assigned
  • Respond to correspondence and departmental requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide additional administrative and data processing support to the Business Office as requested
  • Maintain organization and scheduling of data processing requests to support departmental deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and business information
  • Participate in mandatory in-services, trainings, and performance improvement activities
  • Support facility standards related to professionalism, attendance, punctuality, and conduct
  • Assist with month-end close processes as needed, including occasional weekend or holiday coverage
