About The Position

Education Affiliates provides educational programs that deliver real-life career skills in high-demand occupations. Fortis College in Columbia SC is seeking a Business Office Manager to promote a positive and motivational working and learning environment focused on student success. This full-time position reports to the Campus President and involves overseeing all Business Office functions at the campus. The manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and maintenance of student financial records in compliance with all state, accrediting, and federal regulations, and must be able to respond to all inquiries expected in an audit or accreditation visit. Additionally, the role includes all on-site payroll and human resources functions, processing student payments, performing accounts payable/accounts receivable activities, and coordinating with the Registrar to issue degrees, diplomas, and certificates to graduates. Variable hours, including day and evening shifts, may be required.

Requirements

  • At least three years of significant office administration work experience, maintaining business or accounting records
  • Prior accounts payable/receivable experience is a must
  • Strong computer skills in the area of data management and word processing
  • Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking, and collaborative experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, handling many responsibilities at once

Nice To Haves

  • Payroll processing experience is a benefit and highly desirable
  • Student collections experience is nice to have
  • An AS or BS degree in the administrative or accounting area may substitute for work experience

Responsibilities
