About The Position

Capital One Travel is expanding. We are currently hiring a Business Manager to own the data-driven strategy for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring high-quality vacation rental inventory for Capital One Travel. You will build AI-powered orchestration workflows that identify supply gaps, find target properties, and automate outreach to property owners/managers — passing qualified leads to the Business Development team. As a Business Analysis Manager at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You'll team with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
  • Strategic thinking. Sees the big picture, determines opportunities through data analysis.
  • Data Driven. Expert-level analytical skills. Defines metrics, builds frameworks.
  • AI & Automation. Can design and build AI-powered orchestration workflows end-to-end.
  • Problem Solving. Navigates ambiguity and creates structure from scratch.
  • Ownership. Acts as owner of the entire supply intelligence function. Delivers business results. Focuses on key inputs and delivers with quality.
  • Communication. Clearly articulates strategy and insights to leadership.
  • Technical Acumen. Comfortable with SQL, data tools, APIs, and automation platform.
  • A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk management
  • Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
  • Solid people leadership experience: Ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. Nice To Haves

  • Previous consulting experience is a plus
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis

Responsibilities

  • Define and measure "good enough inventory" — create the metrics framework for supply quality by market
  • Analyze where customers are searching but we are not returning good enough inventory
  • Build competitive intelligence pipeline using third-party benchmarking platforms and public short-term rental market data to identify specific missing properties.
  • Build AI orchestration workflows that: find owner/PM contact info, verify connectivity, auto-pitch via outreach, and pass warm leads to Business Development
  • Own the supply gap analysis and prioritization of markets/properties to target
  • Partner with Business Development/Account Management to ensure lead quality and handoff efficiency
  • Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • May manage and develop 1-2 analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One
  • Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product level modeling/analytics
  • Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies
  • Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
  • Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
