About The Position

The Business Management Instructor is responsible for all aspects of instruction within the Business Technology and Management program. Responsibilities include developing program and course outlines, goals, objectives, lesson plans, and instructional materials for credit technical and occupational courses. The instructor evaluates student progress in attaining learning outcomes, maintains program certification requirements as applicable, prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports, and requests and manages instructional supplies, equipment, and budget needs. The instructor ensures that safety and security requirements are met in all instructional areas and works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to support student success. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, assisting with student recruitment, retention, and job placement activities, participating in professional development opportunities, committee work, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, or a closely related field is required.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Management, Human Resources, or other business-related disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong human relations skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and instructional technology.
  • Knowledge of pedagogical practices and instructional theory, postsecondary vocational and technical education, academic course standards, and college-level academic programs.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with students, faculty, staff, and the public is essential.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Candidates must pass a criminal background check and MVR.

Nice To Haves

  • Postsecondary teaching experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations in a classroom environment.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses is highly desirable.
  • Experience teaching management, human resources, leadership, organizational behavior, or other business-related courses are encouraged to apply.
