About The Position

This internship program is designed for full-time college students enrolled in accredited four-year institutions, pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree. It provides practical work experience in the student's field of study to help clarify career interests. The intern will support the Energy Efficiency and Conservation team, gaining a comprehensive understanding of program design and implementation, vendor management and contracting, evaluation, measurement, and verification, as well as data analytics. Through hands-on experience, the intern will develop familiarity with PPL policies and procedures while participating in internal and external meetings, forecasting, complex problem solving, and addressing regulatory issues. Interns also gain exposure to a corporate environment, acquiring practical skills and knowledge to complement classroom learning, with opportunities to interact with senior executives, join business resource groups, participate in community service projects, and contribute to departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related degree
  • Maintaining full-time enrollment (at least 12 semester hours); students cannot continue as an intern/cooperative associate after graduation
  • Holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Eligible to work under United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations
  • Able to provide official transcripts and other required information
  • 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities

  • Supporting overall energy efficiency and peak demand reduction customer-facing programs
  • Assisting program managers through invoice review, database reporting, and other key departmental functions
  • Supporting pilot design and implementation
  • Tracking program participation data, energy savings metrics
  • Communicating with external partners and vendors, addressing eligibility issues, customer concerns, and evaluating proposals
  • Identifying and providing process improvement opportunities throughout the workflow
  • Performing other duties as assigned
