About The Position

Our Business Intelligence (BI) Developers design innovative, scalable, self-serve business intelligence solutions to empower our business partners to drive their own discovery and insight, which in turn helps improve our member's financial quality of life. They produce high-quality BI content with respect for our culture, industry standards, performance, scalability, simplicity, and team norms. They develop working relationships with their team, work closely with Business partners. The BI Developer I has a basic understanding of the methods and techniques needed to provide actionable data to the end user in an intuitive format. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related area (Preferred)
  • 1+ year related experience in the field of business intelligence or data engineering or data science using modern analytics and data management technology (Preferred)
  • Credit Union or similar financial services provider experience (Preferred)
  • Comfortable working in highly collaborative and independent environments
  • Works effectively in teams, in supporting roles, solving problems, thinking critically, and managing conflict.
  • Teachable and able to apply new information and guidelines with minimal corrections
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, courteously at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to present information in group settings
  • Ability to execute with minimal supervision and defects
  • Ability to build intuitive dashboards for an audience with varied technical expertise
  • Ability to set short- and long-term goals with a strong internal drive to achieve them
  • Ability to arrange activities relative to evolving priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to apply math and logic to solve problems and answer questions

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of modern database design, data warehousing, and relational data modeling concepts
  • Ability to convert stakeholder requests and business processes into actionable Project and KPI requirements
  • Familiarity with Credit union industry, products, and services
  • Familiarity building with Tableau
  • Familiarity with structured query languages (ANSI SQL, T-SQL, SparkSQL, etc.) and Python
  • Familiarity with Databricks and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Business Analytics Certificate or Equivalent (Udacity or similar) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications.
  • Convert business logic and goals into query logic and dashboard content.
  • Create, update, and test intuitive dashboard content.
  • Create, update, and test data queries and extracts.
  • Design, documentation, testing, creation, or modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems.
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders to understand business needs and how they relate to available data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide support, capture requirements, suggest KPI and layout options.
  • Collaborate with teammates to cross-train and pair on development tasks.
  • Maintain records of business requirements and development activities.
  • Provide technical support for BI content.
  • Identify opportunities to scale and improve BI content.
  • Ensure consistency of definitions and lineage across BI content.
  • Ensure security and integrity of all data content.
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
