About The Position

Seeking a Data Analytics / Business Intelligence professional with 3-5 years of experience to design and maintain position-level change tracking and analytics across HR and finance data. This role focuses on translating complex position lifecycle events (creation, elimination, modification, replacement, overlap, etc.) into clear, auditable data flows and dashboards for analysis and decision-making. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with messy, event-driven data from multiple source systems and partnering with Finance, HR, and Operations stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Analytics Engineering roles.
  • Strong experience working with relational data models and event-based change data.
  • Advanced SQL skills; comfortable handling historical snapshots, effective dating, and record versioning.
  • Experience building dashboards in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Ability to translate complex business processes into clear data structures and visuals.
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain data logic to Finance and HR partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HR systems, position management data, or workforce analytics.
  • Exposure to finance or headcount planning use cases.
  • Familiarity with slowly changing dimensions (SCDs) or audit-style reporting.
  • Experience working in environments with frequent structural or organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Design data models that link original positions to all approved change requests across the position lifecycle, including noting where a position is being moved and replaced with a different position number.
  • Build data flows and mappings that capture granular position changes, including cost center changes, position eliminations and replacements, level/grade changes, start and end date modifications, overlapping positions (backfills, transitions, phased replacements), and other key metrics.
  • Create dashboards and reporting views that clearly summarize what changed, when it changed, why it changed (change type/driver), net impact over time, total position counts (then, now, future), and total positions by key factors (levels, locations, etc.).
  • Ensure data outputs are traceable, auditable, and easy to interpret by non-technical stakeholders to enable analysis & reporting.
  • Partner with Finance and HR teams to validate logic, assumptions, and business rules.
