Job summary: To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Business Excellence Technician located in Columbia, SC. Reporting to the Business Excellence Manager the Business Excellence Technician role is responsible for continuously driving a culture of excellence in the organization, coaching and enabling waste removal activities using lean and six sigma approaches and tools and guiding actions to a sustainable conclusion.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience in related field.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Experience using the following tools may be required: Pipe cutters, drills, power tools, lean and six sigma tools, maintain catalogue of work stations, trolleys etc.
  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills which may be used to conduct on-the-job training and/or lead/guide other employees.
  • Determines quality/testing methods/ procedures on new assignments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of advanced technologies as well as functional techniques and improves processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support lean and six sigma activities as defined in the GBE A3.
  • Support in designing and building workstations, supermarket racks, benches, trolleys etc.
  • Familiar with and able to use Moonshine tools and machines effectively.
  • Ensure good 5S in the work area.
  • Implement identified Best practices timely.
  • Prepare and upload completed kaizen projects in the BE on-line Systems.
  • Maintain and update various indicators on the lean gallery and other defined locations.
