About The Position

We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist – Events for our Travel & Tourism Show. Expo Media is a private company headquartered in Montreal, specializing in the organization of consumer and trade shows. Since 2006, Expo Media has leveraged more than 20 years of expertise to create exceptional consumer events.

Requirements

  • DEC, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education in Tourism, Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, business development, or inside sales.
  • Proven experience in cold calling and business development.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
  • Bilingual in French and English (Spanish is considered an asset).
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during the Travel & Tourism Show held at the end of October.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and driven by achieving goals.
  • Strong prospecting and new business development skills.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls and follow-ups.
  • Talent for quickly building trusted relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong results-oriented mindset and business acumen.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, and networking.
  • Sell exhibition space, sponsorships, and advertising opportunities.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of clients and exhibitors.
  • Identify new markets, prospects, and strategic partners.
  • Meet and exceed established sales targets.
  • Use CRM tools to ensure accurate tracking and follow-up of sales activities.
  • Advise clients on strategies to maximize their visibility and return on investment.
  • Monitor market trends and analyze competitor activities.
  • Attend selected events and trade shows to strengthen client relationships and generate new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure the success of events.
