About The Position

Jensen Hughes is seeking a motivated and articulate inside sales representative to join our global Fire and Life Safety team in the Boston Region, operating on a hybrid work schedule. The role involves identifying and developing new leads and opportunities, engaging with clients to understand their needs, aligning those needs with our services, and ensuring a seamless sales process. The ideal candidate will be adept at nurturing long-term client relationships, expanding service offerings, closing sales, and achieving sales targets. This position aims to grow our Fire & Life Safety and Process Safety service lines by engaging existing and new clients, cross-selling services, and identifying opportunities for company-wide growth. The role will leverage communication and sales skills to showcase the benefits of our services across various vertical markets. This is a full-time, salaried position with no commission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, and/or two (2) plus years’ experience as an Inside Sales Representative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • General knowledge and confidence using computer databases and menu-driven reports.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and is self-motivated, with a bias for action.
  • Project coordination and organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative to follow through.
  • Consistently perform at a high level in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Exceptional Customer Service and strong listening skills.
  • Able to look at things multidimensionally and able to come to a unique and innovative plan or solution if a problem is identified.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Experience with government contract tracking systems such as GovWin, Deltek, or similar platforms used to monitor and research federal, state, or local government opportunities preferred.
  • Experience working for a professional services firm preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales opportunities by exploring and identifying potential clients, soliciting new clients, and building rapport.
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities.
  • Convey clear and detailed explanations of our services.
  • Collaborate with technical colleagues to prepare proposals and with the marketing team to prepare qualifications.
  • Communicate with existing and potential clients and make outbound calls.
  • Respond to customer questions, coordinate with technical colleagues, and send additional information as needed.
  • Create and maintain relationships, manage existing client accounts, support service renewals, and identify value-added opportunities.
  • Support Business Development and Operations teams by understanding the current pipeline and assisting in moving proposals through the pipeline to secure orders.
  • Regularly maintain sales data of current and potential clients, pipeline, orders, and projects/contracts up for renewal.
  • Explain the value of our services and how they meet client needs, knowing when to engage operations and subject matter experts.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and identify risks within existing clients.
  • Proactively plan and support annual growth initiatives.
