About The Position

Business Development Sales Manager, Travel Gear & Watches will ensure the ‘retail’ strategy is implemented for the North American markets by spearheading the repositioning of the Victorinox brand with key accounts and independent representatives. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable growth for the Victorinox brand using their professionalism and knowledge of the market. The sales manager will ensure sales by assortment, replenishment based on sell-through and visual merchandising equal to the competition both in-store and online. Successful sales management will include both top-line sales and gross margin targets resulting in sustainable profitable growth year over year. As a key contributor to the success of the iconic consumer brand, the Business Development Sales Manager will drive wholesale sales in a defined territory by promoting sell through of the product at retail channels ensuring that product mix, replenishment cycle and manner in-which the products are sold is in accordance with the sales and marketing philosophy of Victorinox. The sales manager is responsible for the complete sales cycle management: prospecting, pitching, closing, account management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Businessor MarketingPreferred
  • Minimum 3-5years’ experiencein the processing industry at national or regional level
  • Superior managerial, organizational and project management skills
  • A high degreeinorganizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills – both internal and external
  • Forecasting and operations exposure with national or regional accounts
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel,Outlookand PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to travel50–60%
  • Strong relationship building skills

Responsibilities

  • Hunts for new business opportunities within current programs and via new partners
  • Fosters collaborative strong relationships at all levels of the customer’s organization to positively affect sell-in, sell-through and visual merchandising excellence.
  • Reviews monthly sales target as assigned. Develops plan for making year-endgoalwhen results trend below target. Develops and implements a planfor the anniversary of theprior year events andachievesthe defined target.
  • Assesses the distribution strategy within the territory, recommends account openings and closings to maximize business results and enhance brand positioning.
  • Ensureson-going sell-through data on amonthly cadence as abasis for monthly or faster replenishment against sold items.
  • Works with Collections team to ensure that retailers are current with payments and able to receive product as dictated bysell –through results. Achieves DSOtarget.
  • Constantlyinsuresthat all accounts meet inventory and real estate requirements as defined by Victorinox bymonitoringbasic product assortment mix and levels as well as aging inventory.
  • Consultswith each retailer to provide the right assortment based on store trends, customer base, retail sales expectations, etc.
  • Ensuresretailers fully embraceauto replenishment andknowshow to order their own replacement pieces.
  • Develops and executes transitional merchandisestrategyin each door to mitigate inventory liabilities.
  • Regularly conducts in-store sales associate training to enhance brand and product knowledge.
  • Conducts role plays to ensure associates can use information effectivelytoclose sales and maximizesellthrough.
  • Solicits individual sales associate questionsregardingour brand,productsand/or competitors.
  • Maintains the image of the Victorinoxbrandin accordance withdirectives from Corporate Marketing and Corporate Visual Merchandising: ensuresall accounts are using current ad campaigns and promotional materials, evaluates competitive brands carried by retailer, organizes case lines in adherence with corporate visual standards, etc.
