About The Position

Guggenheim Retail Real Estate Partners (GRREP) is seeking an experienced individual to join their team as a Business Development professional, reporting to COO. The Business Development professional will be responsible for originating and securing relationships with multi-unit retail operators seeking to expand their physical footprint through programmatic development partnerships. This role focuses on identifying growth-oriented retailers and structuring long-term development pipelines for single-tenant net lease assets across the United States. This role is required to report on-site in our Frisco, TX office at least 5 days per week.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail real estate, tenant representation, net lease development, or related business development roles
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to travel for client meetings, trade shows and industry conferences
  • Existing relationships with retailer real estate teams and/or tenant rep brokers
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Responsive to client needs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly proactive, relationship-driven, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Collaborative team player, motivated by the open exchange of ideas within a team environment
  • Demonstrated track record of originating deals or client relationships (not just executing)

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target national and regional retail brands with active unit growth strategies (e.g., automotive services, convenience stores, QSR, coffee, and service-based retail)
  • Develop direct relationships with real estate decision-makers (Chief Development Officers, Heads of Real Estate, Franchise Growth Leads)
  • Source and originate new client partnerships focused on multi-site development programs rather than one-off transactions
  • Build and manage a pipeline of retailer clients with defined multi-year expansion plans
  • Analyze retailer expansion strategies, white space mapping, and geographic growth priorities
  • Proactively identify emerging brands and concepts poised for rapid expansion
  • Maintain deep knowledge of trends across net lease retail sectors including automotive, convenience, QSR, and experiential/service retail
  • Collaborate with internal real estate acquisition and development teams to align on client opportunities
  • Help structure development partnerships that meet retailer operational needs and GRREP’s investment criteria
  • Support negotiation of development pipelines, site selection strategies, and long-term rollout plans
  • Serve as a primary relationship manager for retailer clients throughout the lifecycle of the partnership
  • Ensure consistent delivery and execution across development programs to support client expansion goals
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships into additional markets or formats
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, ICSC events, and retail real estate forums
  • Position GRREP as a preferred development partner for growth-oriented retailers
  • Build and maintain a strong network across brokers, tenant rep firms, and retail real estate teams
  • Maintain and regularly update the firm’s website to ensure accurate, current, and compelling representation of active projects, client relationships, and development capabilities
  • Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with firm branding, messaging, and strategic positioning as a programmatic retail development partner
  • Customize presentations and collateral for targeted retailer outreach and specific growth programs
  • Coordinate logistics and materials preparation for industry conferences (e.g., ICSC), including booth content, signage, and client-facing materials
  • Continuously evaluate and improve marketing content to better articulate the firm’s value proposition and differentiate from competitors
