About The Position

This role is for a Business Development Representative (BDR) who will work closely with the Sales Manager, VP, and senior management to identify prospective accounts, initiate new business conversations, build relationships, and turn opportunities into long-term clients. The BDR will be responsible for starting the sales process, moving opportunities from initial conversation through onboarding, and remaining involved in managing and growing the account after the client comes on board. This position is designed for individuals with sales experience seeking more responsibility, earning potential, and the opportunity to build and manage their own book of business, with the chance to earn residual commission. The ideal candidate enjoys creating opportunities, building relationships, and competing, bringing energy, persistence, and a strong work ethic to a fun, team-oriented, work hard, play hard environment. The BDR will also collaborate with management on RFPs, pricing, proposals, and larger business opportunities. This is more than a lead-generation position; it's an opportunity to create relationships, retain accounts, grow income, and build a long-term career.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License (minimum Class D)
  • Must Pass Criminal Background Check
  • Must Provide Past Employment History
  • Must Complete Required Company and QMS Training
  • Ability to Travel as Necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in sales, business development, lead generation, or customer acquisition
  • Experience with outbound calling, email prospecting, networking, and relationship building
  • Transportation, logistics, cold-chain, pharmaceutical, or supply-chain experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience using ChatGPT or other AI tools for research, lead generation, sales communication, and productivity
  • Experience using CRM software to track leads, opportunities, and customer activity
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales leads through outbound calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and other prospecting activities
  • Build, manage, and maintain an active sales pipeline
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across targeted industries
  • Initiate conversations with prospective accounts and develop relationships from the first contact
  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals, pricing, and customer follow-up communications
  • Work with the Sales Manager, VP, and senior management on RFPs and new business opportunities
  • Maintain accurate prospect, activity, and opportunity information in the company CRM
  • Help move new accounts from initial outreach through onboarding
  • Grow and manage an individual book of business
  • Maintain regular communication with clients after onboarding to support retention and account growth
  • Identify additional revenue opportunities within existing accounts
  • Meet or exceed established lead-generation, sales activity, and revenue goals
  • Coordinate with operations and management to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service
