Requirements

  • Proven track record of navigating federal R&D landscapes or military research laboratory networks (e.g., Army Corps of Engineers).
  • Strong project management foundation with the "mental agility" to identify and pursue situational business opportunities.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex engineering or data science concepts to both technical and non-technical government stakeholders.
  • Experience with federal funding processes, government solicitations, or defense-related technical proposals.
  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Specific experience navigating the Army Corps of Engineers Research Laboratory (ERDC).
  • Familiarity with field systems hardware, such as GPS, LiDAR scanners, or heavy equipment automation.
  • Existing networks within defense engineering commands in hubs like Huntsville, Vicksburg, or Washington D.C.

Responsibilities

  • Drive federal R&D strategy by identifying and securing new funding opportunities from military research entities that align with Trimble’s long-term product vision.
  • Cultivate deep, consultative relationships within defense-related technical laboratories and engineering commands to stay ahead of emerging mission requirements.
  • Spearhead the technical proposal development and RFx process for military-focused R&D projects, translating complex concepts into compelling mission-aligned content.
  • Lead the "Bridge to Product" initiative, ensuring successful outcomes from experimental research are integrated into scalable commercial offerings.
  • Manage high-level R&D projects to ensure they meet budget, timeline, and strict government regulatory standards while keeping stakeholders aligned.
