Job Title: Business Development Officer Department: Banking FLSA: Exempt General Function: The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and increasing revenue within the bank’s target markets. This role focuses on developing strategic partnerships, generating new commercial and retail banking opportunities, and promoting all Midwest Heritage products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or business development
  • Proven track record of generating new business and meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Commitment to the Midwest Heritage mission and willingness to promote the values of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with people in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Strong detail orientation including the ability to review forms for accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve loan, deposit, and revenue growth goals
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with commercial, agricultural, and retail clients
  • Loan Officer - Originates all types of loans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, community partners, and centers of influence
  • Collaborate with lending, treasury management, and retail teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform growth strategies
  • Represent the bank at networking events, community organizations, and industry functions
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and track activities through CRM systems
  • Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures
