About The Position

VALD is hiring a Business Development Manager to own and develop a defined sales territory. This is a field-sales role, not an inside-sales or work-from-anywhere position. The manager is expected to meet clients, demonstrate VALD products, build relationships, attend conferences and events, oversee trials, nurture leads, and identify new business opportunities. The role uses an education-based consultative sales approach, drawing on industry expertise and detailed knowledge of VALD’s systems to show clients how the technology can create value for their businesses. The position is remote in the sense that VALD may not have a local office in every territory, but requires regular field work. Approximately 50% travel is expected, primarily regionally, with frequent day trips by car and regular overnight stays depending on territory. Limited air travel may be needed. Standard working hours apply, with occasional evenings or weekends for conferences, events, or lead follow-up. Applicants must live within 60 minutes of a major airport in the posted states and be able to travel within roughly a 3–4-hour radius of their residence. Candidates outside the territory must be willing to relocate within 30 days of the offer or start date; relocation reimbursement is not offered. A reliable personal vehicle is required, and work-related travel and mileage are reimbursed. The role requires transporting and demonstrating equipment, including carrying demo equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds. VALD provides human-measurement technology to allied health clients worldwide. The company began in Brisbane in 2015 and has grown to more than 300 team members across over 30 countries, with five offices on four continents. Its systems support insight into human movement, performance, injury risk, and rehabilitation. The role is suited to sports performance professionals considering a move into consultative field sales, including health professionals and early- or mid-career business development professionals with relevant industry backgrounds. New graduates are welcome; candidates with at least two years of field experience are preferred. The strongest candidates are curious, coachable lifelong learners who can handle rejection, accept feedback, learn from setbacks, and maintain a focus on long-term success. Successful applicants must pass acceptable identity and criminal-record background checks.
