About The Position

Alliance Air Products, a member of Daikin Group, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive their custom air handling business in the eastern US. This role is responsible for developing new business streams within the Alliance Air/Daikin Applied representative organization to achieve sales and revenue targets. The position is remote and based in the eastern US, requiring substantial travel throughout the US and occasional trips to Canada and manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, Mexico. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Additional work and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • 5+ years related experience with demonstrated success in commercial HVAC sales, including custom air handling units, calling on rep groups and working on large scale projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce or other sales tracking software.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years custom air handling sales experience with a custom air handling manufacturer.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.

Responsibilities

  • Identify business opportunities and execute sales strategies to win business primarily through representatives and consultants.
  • Develop market strategy: Identify and determine the market size available through sales representatives and consultants in target areas.
  • Call on consultants to influence their designs to include AAP product features and benefits through design specifications.
  • Engage end users, developers, architects, etc resulting from primary consultant-based activities.
  • Represent AAP via professional associations such as USGBC, ASHRAE, AEE.
  • Promote AAP as a technology leader and environmentally responsible custom air handler manufacturer.
  • Educate others at a high level, including Developers, Consultants and Architects regarding value that AAP will bring to assist in producing energy efficient projects.
  • Develop expertise with features, benefits, technical performance, and design guidelines for AAP products as marketed to consultants.
  • Educate customers and representatives to promote AAP’s product line.
  • Update customers/team members on new products and changes as they occur.
  • Provide marketing material, product selections and technical information to clients.
  • Answer technical questions and conduct demonstrations of products and new features to prospective clients.
  • Gather ongoing prospect/customer feedback, enhancement requests, and related information.
  • Liaise with Sales Representative’s and Equipment Sales Team to assist in expanding Alliance Air Products custom air handling equipment sales.
  • Effectively communicate technical product knowledge to customers through client visits, technical presentations, lunch and learns, e-mail and phone contact.
  • Propose changes for equipment to keep pace with industry code advancements and market demands.
  • Work with customers to determine how products or services could be designed or modified to best meet clients’ needs.
  • Provide market and competitor intelligence, as well as continuing analysis of territory and major account potential.
