About The Position

Parrish & Heimbecker (P&H) is seeking a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated Business Development Manager for its Milling division. This role reports into Cambridge, ON, and is part of a team that shares a passion for Canadian agriculture. P&H Milling is the largest Canadian-owned milling company, sourcing wheat from across Canada to produce a variety of quality flour and cereal products. They supply customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries from their mills located across Canada.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Agriculture is preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in an outside sales role.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear drivers abstract.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to think strategically and produce results.
  • Self-starter with a passion for learning.
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Experience in selling commodities or buying commodities is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of a bakery’s operation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing existing accounts and developing new business opportunities.
  • Maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Servicing existing customers as well as prospecting for new business.
  • Remaining abreast of relevant industry news and trends and providing sound input to customers.
  • Providing support to accounts on proper use of our products, providing information regarding alternative products and their uses and giving customers timely and sound advice on bookings.
  • Helping customers to meet their risk management goals with forward contracting.
  • Attending and setting up various industry shows and events.
  • Managing and ensuring collection of receivables to maintain company terms.
  • Handling customer concerns in a satisfactory manner.
  • Supporting other members of the sales team including providing back up, as required.
