About The Position

Nelson Connects is seeking a motivated Business Development Professional to join their team. The ideal candidate will value relationships and understand mutually beneficial partnerships. While prior staffing experience is not required, the role offers the opportunity to help people find jobs and companies find talent. This position focuses on generating and developing new business, nurturing existing client relationships, maintaining CRM and ATS records, acting as a liaison between clients and operations, negotiating contracts, and representing Nelson Connects at business/trade events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or work equivalent.
  • One to two years in a sales role is ideal.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
  • Travel by car.

  • Knowledge of recruiting practices is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop new business to meet production goals in temporary, direct hire, and temp-to-hire business, while also cross-selling other business units into new relationships.
  • Independently maintain and nurture existing client relationships.
  • Maintain quality company records in our CRM and ATS systems.
  • Function as liaison between client companies and operations staff.
  • Negotiate contracts and work agreements making business impactful on behalf of Nelson Connects.
  • Participate in important business/trade events, representing and acting on behalf of Nelson Connects.
  • Use excellent organizational, problem resolution, consultative sales, verbal and written communication skills.
