About The Position

Small Giants Recruiting is representing a premier, Arizona-based General Contractor seeking a Business Development Manager. This role is critical for an industry professional who excels at identifying public and private project opportunities and aligning market intelligence with internal operations to secure major project wins. The manager will drive strategic growth and cultivate high-value relationships within the greater Phoenix valley.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, estimating, or project management within the construction sector
• Deep knowledge of public/private delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, JOC) and the Arizona market
• Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities
• Strong analytical skills for assessing market positioning and competitive landscapes
• Proficiency in CRM systems (Unanet preferred) and MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Identify and track potential project opportunities through sophisticated market research and competitor analysis
• Analyze funding sources, procurement timelines, and capital improvement programs to inform long-term strategy
• Manage accurate CRM records to track all leads and active pursuits
• Build and maintain robust relationships with public agencies, developers, and industry partners
• Represent the company at industry events and trade associations to increase market visibility
• Convert qualified leads into active project wins by collaborating with field operations, estimating, and project management
• Support the development of high-impact proposals and presentations for client interviews
