About The Position

This role is responsible for implementing and executing sales strategies for the group market. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the General Manager of the respective hotel, the Regional Director of Sales, and hotel operation departments. The position requires a proactive approach to business development, account management, and market research to identify opportunities and increase market share.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years as Sales Manager
  • University degree in a related field
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications and hotels technologies (ex: Opera)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills in working out contractual agreements with potential clients.
  • Quote and negotiate prices within established parameters.
  • Take a proactive approach to business development through account management, lost business accounts, prospecting within target market segments, and referrals.
  • Display effective time management skills by promptly replying to incoming inquiries, sending proposals, contracts, and other sales correspondence.
  • Research markets to identify potential business opportunities and increase market share.
  • Analyze available reports, trends, and competitive knowledge to develop tactics to maximize occupancy.
  • Maintain personal contact with top producing customer accounts through regular sales calls.
  • Complete all Corporate RFPs via Lanyon and/or corporate rate letters.
  • Conduct site inspections and client visits, host and participate in familiarization trips, attend industry trade shows, and assigned association memberships.
  • Attend hotel meetings (revenue and operations meetings) as needed.
  • Create and submit monthly sales reports and monthly updates to the Sales Action Plan.
  • Enter daily activities in Opera PMS in accordance with Germain Hotel standards.
  • Represent the hotel to guests and the general public to enhance the property's quality, image, and reputation.
