About The Position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strategic partnerships, and expanding our market presence. This person works closely with the Vice President of Business Development to develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve the company’s growth goals. CPI Radant, a division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI), specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors, and structural composite products for the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries. These products are critical for secure communications and radar/electronic-warfare capabilities in military and commercial aerospace platforms, involving large apertures and high-frequency performance. CPI, headquartered in Plano, Texas, is a global manufacturer of electronic components and subsystems with manufacturing locations in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, serving various markets including communications, defense, medical, industrial, and scientific. CPI has a history spanning more than seven decades, with thousands of products impacting lives daily, serving as the backbone of modern-day commercial and military communications systems, aiding in cancer treatment, diagnosing medical conditions, supporting and protecting military personnel, empowering scientific discoveries and space exploration, and ensuring food safety.

  • Strong connectivity to aerospace & defense industry partners.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Moderate level of domestic and international travel required (up to 50%).
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Use various channels to generate new leads and opportunities that align to the CPI products.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential clients and decision makers within the target industries.
  • Use competitive market intelligence to strategize business development plans.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders to understand their pain points and position CPI products as solutions.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and market growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions and opportunities using Saleforce software and effectively manage a pipeline of leads.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing innovative sales strategies, and closing deals to meet targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including sales, marketing, product development, and finance to ensure alignment and synergy in business development efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of product marketing materials.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as lead conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and revenue generated from qualified leads.
