About The Position

This position is responsible for the sale of analytical services to existing and prospected customers, as well as securing business opportunities to meet revenue targets. Applying the sales process, the successful candidate will generate revenue for SGS Health and Nutrition. The role involves generating leads and sales through client and prospect relationship development, closing sales on prospective clients, and maintaining functional relationships with major accounts. It also includes developing relationships with current clients to maintain business and obtain additional business from other areas within the account and referrals, as well as obtaining master service agreements with prospective clients. The role requires market research to assist in annual marketing and sales plans and assisting the business development team with marketing ideas. Attendance at annual conferences and assistance with the organization and implementation of marketing and sales activities, along with follow-up on leads from referrals, trade shows, advertising, and the Company’s website, are also key responsibilities. The position involves generating proposals for existing clients and prospects, assisting in the development of materials and implementation of the marketing plan, and following up with new clients to ensure needs are met and to expand business within their organization. Discussion with management about new trends or programs to improve business and increase sales is expected. The role requires following through on campaigns developed by the business development team and maintaining sufficient detail on how new accounts and leads were added. Proficient use of the contact database for inputting leads and performing utilities to maintain proper contact with existing and potential clients is necessary. Active participation in appropriate industry organizations when requested to promote the Company and its services is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, marketing, life science).
  • Over five years of business development experience in sales/marketing.
  • Business development experience with pharmaceutical and medical device companies and CDMO.
  • Technical and industry knowledge.
  • Client-focused mentality.
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and organization of marketing and sales resources.
  • Up to 40% travel for meetings, training, and business needs regionally within California.
