About The Position

The Business Development Manager – Outdoor plays a critical role in accelerating Outdoor growth by identifying, developing, and strengthening high-quality dealer partnerships across the region. This role serves as the regional business owner and subject matter expert for Outdoor dealer development, partnering closely with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Territory Sales Managers (TSMs), and cross-functional teams to improve market coverage, strengthen dealer capability, and drive long-term network performance. The Business Development Manager- Outdoor is responsible for driving Outdoor dealer network growth and performance within an assigned region. This role blends strategic market development, dealer evaluation, and field collaboration to improve dealer quality, optimize lead program performance, and expand SunSetter’s presence across priority markets. The Business Development Manager- Outdoor partners closely with field leadership to identify market opportunities, evaluate dealer performance, strengthen Outdoor expertise across the field organization, and support long-term regional growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales, business development, dealer development, or channel management experience; industry experience in home improvement, outdoor products, building products, or related categories preferred
  • Proven ability to identify, recruit, develop, and manage dealer or distribution relationships aligned with long-term business growth objectives
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market opportunities, dealer performance, and regional growth trends
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across field leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, markets, and dealer relationships simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and virtual communication platforms
  • Strong phone presence, outbound prospecting capability, and virtual presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned region; valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Comfort operating within construction environments and discussing product installation, job site conditions, and safety best practices
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, strong follow-through, and a customer-first/dealer-first mindset

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Regional Sales Managers and Territory Sales Managers to identify underpenetrated, underperforming, and high-opportunity markets and develop strategies to improve regional dealer network performance
  • Utilize regional performance trends, lead data, dealer feedback, and competitive insights to prioritize dealer development, market expansion, and prospecting efforts
  • Identify, evaluate, recruit, onboard, and develop high-quality dealers aligned with the Ideal Dealer Profile and long-term regional growth objectives
  • Coach and support Territory Sales Managers on Outdoor product knowledge, dealer evaluation, lead program expectations, and market prioritization while helping elevate Outdoor expertise across the field organization
  • Partner with existing and prospective dealers to improve market coverage, strengthen performance, identify expansion opportunities, and drive long-term dealer success
  • Manage inbound dealer opportunities and collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Service, Sales Operations, Product, and SWF teams to improve dealer experience and support overall Outdoor growth initiatives
