About The Position

The insurance claims industry, valued at $250B, is currently characterized by outdated methods like fax machines and phone tag, leading to extended cycle times and data silos. Vega is revolutionizing this space as an AI-native claims Third-Party Administrator (TPA), built from the ground up with a team of experienced insurance operators and technologists. Vega is experiencing rapid growth, with 10x YoY revenue increase and on track for a significant run-rate in under two years, supported by prominent venture capital firms. This role is for a Business Development Executive who will be responsible for closing large deals, acquiring new enterprise clients, and establishing strategic partnerships that will shape Vega's future. This is a "hunter" role focused on opening doors at the enterprise level and driving deals to closure. The executive will also play a key role in designing the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, managing strategic relationships from initial contact to multi-year partnerships, and eventually scaling the business development team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in a business development capacity, ideally with deep knowledge of insurance and claims.
  • Proven track record of landing large, complex deals and winning new business, not just managing existing relationships.
  • Experience creating GTM strategies or sales playbooks.
  • Executive presence, comfortable engaging at the C-suite level to advance deals.
  • Startup grit: ability to thrive in ambiguity, own outcomes, and build from the ground up.
  • Technical curiosity and ability to speak confidently about data-driven outcomes in the context of technology's impact on the claims space.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt and Close New Logos: Own the full sales cycle from initial conversation to signed agreement, landing accounts and developing them into long-term partnerships.
  • Build the GTM Playbook: Develop frameworks, positioning, and CRM workflows to drive repeatable growth and scale the team.
  • Evangelize Vega's Value: Translate Vega's capabilities into compelling business cases with undeniable ROI for buyers.
  • Own the Market Feedback Loop: Act as the voice of prospects, customers, and partners to Product, Engineering, and Operations, influencing the product roadmap.
  • Represent Vega: Serve as a credible, senior representative of the company at industry conferences, executive seminars, and key associations.
  • Build Behind You: Develop playbooks and mentorship structures to transform individual success into a repeatable growth engine for the expanding team.
