About The Position

As a Business Development Engineer, you will support the growth initiatives for the Thiochemicals Business Unit in North America. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and commercializing new business opportunities across refinery, renewable energy, and petrochemical markets. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will manage a portfolio of ongoing opportunities, partner closely with customers and cross-functional teams, and resolve complex technical-commercial challenges while recommending strategic paths forward. This role is well suited for experienced engineers looking to broaden their business impact while leveraging strong technical expertise.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is needed
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience
  • About 3 of those years being spent in an R&D, technical, or Business Development Engineer role.
  • Ability to travel 40-50% of the time – mostly within North American, with occasional international travel
  • Effective communication skills with customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience in the refinery, renewable energy, or petrochemical market is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Identify and advance new business opportunities in targeted North American markets
  • Analyze value chains, competitive positioning, and market dynamics to support opportunity and new product development
  • Support strategic partnerships, including Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and Joint Ventures (JVs), and represent Arkema with customers and at industry events.
  • Share market intelligence, customer insights, and opportunity updates with regional and global stakeholders.
