About The Position

The Business Development Director will be responsible for promoting hospice referrals, the Heart to Heart Hospice House, and community resources by calling on physicians, area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, or other senior living settings. This role involves developing and implementing territory business plans, managing sales time and resources, and co-leading the development and implementation of regional and program-specific sales plans. The Director will also assist with the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of Community Education Representatives (CERs), acting as a guide and role model for CER teams. Flexibility in work schedule is required as referral sources, patients, and families may require after-hours and weekend consultations. The position requires the use of customer relationship management software and adherence to all local, state, and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and personnel policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in sales management.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years professional sales experience, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated history of developing sales and growth.
  • Knowledge of business management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Expertise in customer service, marketing, operational excellence and employee development.
  • Current Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and current auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Call on physicians, area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities or other senior living settings to promote hospice referrals, Heart to Heart Hospice House, and community resources.
  • Develop and implement territory business plans and manages sales time and resources according to plan, adjusting as necessary in order to satisfactorily complete the plan and meet established goals.
  • Co-Lead the development and implementation of regional and program specific sales plans in conjunction with the ED and Sales Leadership.
  • Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of Community Education Representatives.
  • Assist in the growth and development of others CERs sharing knowledge, experience, and wisdom; act as a guide and role model to help manage the CER Teams.
  • Flexibility in work schedule as referral source, patients and families may require after hours and weekend consultations.
  • Utilize customer relationship management software and other tools provided to effectively manage accounts and performance.
  • Performance of other duties as required.
  • Ensure overall compliance with local, state and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures.
