Puget Sound Home Health & Hospice of Thurston County is seeking a Marketing and Community Relations Business Development Director to lead and grow its referral network, drive census development, and expand community partnerships across Thurston County. This role is ideal for a healthcare sales leader or home health/hospice business development professional who thrives on relationship building, strategic growth, and community engagement. Requirements

  • 3+ years of healthcare marketing / business development experience (Home health, hospice, or post-acute strongly preferred)
  • Proven success in relationship-based sales and referral growth
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare referral networks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while driving measurable results
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within Thurston County and surrounding areas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and managed care environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase referrals and patient census
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, SNFs, ALFs, and community partners
  • Identify new referral sources and market opportunities
  • Support growth of home health and hospice programs
  • Represent the organization in the community through events, meetings, and outreach
  • Promote services to healthcare providers, case managers, and discharge planners
  • Maintain a strong presence and reputation as a trusted healthcare partner
  • Partner with the Executive Director to establish growth goals and volume projections
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis and competitive positioning
  • Develop and implement targeted marketing plans
  • Lead and support members of the marketing / intake / outreach team (as applicable)
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and performance oversight
  • Assist with negotiation and management of referral relationships and payer contracts
  • Maintain awareness of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid environments
  • Work closely with clinical leadership (Director of Nursing) to align growth with care delivery
  • Support development of specialty programs and service lines
  • Monitor and report on marketing ROI and effectiveness
