About The Position

Wells Fargo is hiring a Business Banker in Consumer Banking and Lending to build, maintain, and grow relationships with business banking clients in branches. The role serves low- to moderately complex business clients, typically with annual sales of $500,000 to $2 million, and manages the client journey from onboarding through relationship growth and new-client acquisition. The banker provides a client-centric experience and positions Wells Fargo as a trusted business partner. The role involves understanding clients’ goals, operations, and financial needs; recommending suitable financial solutions and digital services; and serving as a trusted advisor on business accounts, credit, treasury services, and digital tools. The banker also prospects and networks for referrals, collaborates with internal banking channels, and partners with Relationship Managers and Lending Officers on complex structures. This Loan Originator position may involve assessing customer needs and referring customers interested in dwelling-secured products to a SAFE team member. The banker may assist customers but may not take applications or offer or negotiate terms for dwelling-secured transactions. LO registration is required at employment, along with applicable regulatory qualifications and ongoing screening. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. The role is based at the Ladera Ranch, California branch; banker placements may be within 10 miles of the branch. The stated base pay range for Ladera Ranch is $30.00–$45.00 per hour; another pay-range statement lists $30.77–$45.67 per hour. Employees may also be eligible for incentives.

Requirements

At least 2 years of financial services, sales, or customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Must meet Loan Originator qualification requirements, including applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards.
Must complete required LO registration at the time of employment and meet ongoing regulatory requirements, including additional screening if necessary.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of in-branch business banking experience.
At least 1 year of experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across an assigned territory.
Proficiency in proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining customer and colleague relationships.
Experience using business acumen to provide financial services consultation to business customers.
Extensive knowledge of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products.

Responsibilities
