About The Position

Provides business analysis services at a local, institutional, or enterprise level, considering both business and technical needs to deliver products or processes that meet business objectives. Evaluates costs, benefits, risks, and alternatives for proposed investments or projects throughout the business life cycle. Works with stakeholders and users to identify, synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements using systems and analytical thinking. Applies business strategy and planning principles with minimal guidance, performs data analysis, documents requirements, supports their translation into functional specifications, and contributes to design synthesis and system validation. Assists project leaders with coordinating deployment of deliverables and contributes to project charters, plans, work assignments, target dates, and other project details. Applies business analysis and systems engineering methodologies throughout the project lifecycle and may manage projects of limited complexity or components of larger projects. This is a hybrid position; the employee must live within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for on-site work based on business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, or a health- or science-related field; or a master's degree and 2 years of experience in one of these fields.
• Knowledge and demonstrated use of business analysis methodologies and tools.
• The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Skills and experience using Microsoft Fabric and/or Tableau.
• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis), ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis), or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide business analysis services at a local, institutional, or enterprise level.
• Consider business and technical customer needs to help deliver products or processes that meet business objectives.
• Examine costs, benefits, and risks associated with proposed investments or projects and recommend alternatives throughout the business life cycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate, and document business objectives and requirements.
• Apply business strategy and planning principles in project work, including value proposition, mission and strategy, goals and objectives, technology assessments, funding, and management or administration.
• Perform data analysis and document business requirements.
• Support translation of business requirements into functional specifications early in the development cycle, and contribute to design synthesis and system validation.
• Assist project leaders in coordinating deployment of deliverables.
• Maintain effective written and in-person communication and build credibility and rapport with stakeholders and partners.
• Work with stakeholders to develop a solid understanding of business needs.
• Provide input for detailed project charters and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned projects.
• Apply systems engineering methodologies and discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
• May manage projects of limited complexity, including subcomponents of larger projects, as directed by project leaders.
