About The Position

The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver. As a Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your development team to execute. The ideal Business Analyst also has strong writing and communication skills, ability to learn technical concepts, and is able to build relationships with both their team members and clients. This position is located in our Fairfax, VA, Lafayette, LA, or Knoxville, TN office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. A Business Analyst works as bridge between clients and developers to understand business needs and application requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for developers to deliver. Business Analysts are responsible for helping the client to define the problem they are trying to solve and ensuring the delivered software solves the problem.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or information systems management preferred
  • Minimum 4 years work experience as a business analyst
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment under tight timelines
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects at once
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience authoring SQL queries will strongly benefit a candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, develop, document and validate business, functional and technical requirements.
  • Interact with client during JAD sessions.
  • Interact with advanced business analysts and solution developers to communicate and validate requirements.
  • Perform functional and integrated testing.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation and artifacts including analysis, reports and user documentation.
  • Works with project managers, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements.
  • Assists all phases of software systems programming applications.
  • Evaluates new and existing software products.
  • Author and prepare meeting minutes to be distributed to a variety of audiences
  • Author user stories, test scripts, and other Agile deliverables
