About The Position

A PowerPlan Professional Services Analyst works on a team of 2–8 people to configure and customize PowerPlan software for utility customers’ accounting needs and business processes. Analysts study design documents and help build solutions by writing SQL scripts, assisting with interface configuration, converting and translating data, and testing the solution against client outcomes. First-year Analysts focus on quickly learning PowerPlan functionality and the tools and processes used to configure it. Projects may last from three months to two years. Analysts typically work on one project at a time until they demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects. Travel to client sites may be required up to 50% of the time. The role includes a comprehensive four-week training program covering PowerPlan’s platform, applications, functionality, data structure, relevant tools, and utility accounting basics. Analysts apply that learning to mock builds and project work, develop familiarity with public utility accounting, and learn to configure software according to design documents agreed upon by the Solution Architect and client. They collaborate with Testing Services and support client users by diagnosing and resolving issues found during testing. Approximately 75% of an Analyst’s time is spent helping configure the build. Project work may include new client implementations, software and database upgrades, expert services assignments such as ERP transformations or mergers and acquisitions, and internal initiatives. Analysts troubleshoot assigned work, conduct unit testing, report progress and risks to the Project Manager, and participate in client design meetings. The role is hybrid, combining work at the corporate office with work from home; onsite attendance may be required for scheduled office days, team or client meetings, and special events.
