About The Position

The City of Carmel is seeking a strategic and solutions-driven Business Analyst to support operational improvements, technology initiatives, and cross-department projects that enhance City services. This role blends business analysis, project coordination, process improvement, and collaboration. You’ll work with departments, leadership, IT, and vendors to identify challenges, improve workflows, and help implement practical solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Experience with business analysis, project coordination, or process improvement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software
  • A collaborative mindset and strong customer service approach

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile, LEAN, or business analysis methodologies preferred
  • Experience with project management or workflow tools preferred
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Gather and document business and system requirements
  • Support project planning, implementation, testing, and user adoption activities
  • Coordinate with departments, vendors, and stakeholders across the organization
  • Assist with process improvement and technology implementation initiatives
  • Maintain project documentation, timelines, and status updates
  • Support teams through process and system transitions
