About The Position

Manages the EMH Business Analysis/Decision Support to include system-wide budgeting, forecasting, bench-marking, cost-accounting, productivity and service line analysis, cost reporting, and other types of patient demographic and fiscal analysis. Supports the EMH System CFOs and Leadership team with fiscal and reimbursement monitoring, modeling, trending, and reporting. Works directly with Patient Care areas/directors on financial/reimbursement issues as well as patient demographic reporting. Directs the EMH Chargemaster to include annual rate-setting, analysis, and continual updating and monitoring. Provides statistical analysis and reports to all departments and outside customers through various software applications. Exhibits the values of F.I.R.S.T. Requirements

  • Advanced computer skills in all MS office and Google applications.
  • General accounting, cost accounting, and decision support knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the primary analysis/financial reporting function of EMH to include both fiscal and patient demographic data through the use of several IS and Decision Support software tools.
  • Manages data integrity and collection to ensure load processes are consistent and reliable. Data reconciliations are performed monthly with appropriate reconciliations to Meditech.
  • Responsible for completing specific items in the annual system wide budget process, includes development of historical load files, volume figures, and general ledger downloads.
  • Independently track and report inpatient statistics and patient days on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for completing specific items in the month end financial closing process.
  • Develop, run, and analyze and interpret Meditech reports within the General Ledger menu to provide operational support.
  • Prepares various monthly financial reports and ad-hoc reporting for CFO.
  • Functions as EMH system contact for surveys, research projects, and numerous other on-going data requests from both internal and external customers.
  • Creates pro forma models for the evaluation of new and/or existing service lines using available data and reasonable estimates to project financial viability and impact.
  • Monitors and evaluates costs for internal departments concerning specific key diagnosis and procedures.
