About The Position

The Business Analyst is a key member of STORE Capital’s Data Analytics and Business Intelligence team, responsible for leveraging data and analytics to enhance decision-making and drive performance across the organization. This role plays a critical part in translating data into actionable insights that support core business functions, including Acquisitions, Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management, and Recoveries. The Business Analyst partners closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, source and validate data, and deliver analysis that informs investment decisions, improves operational efficiency, and strengthens portfolio performance. This role also contributes to the development of scalable reporting and analytical frameworks, enabling STORE to make more informed, data-driven decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in business analytics, data analytics, or a related role
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data sourcing, validation, analysis, and modeling/scoring
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or Excel
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Experience working with large datasets and supporting business decision-making processes
  • Strong intellectual curiosity with a desire to understand drivers of business outcome
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • experience with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or programming languages (Python, R)
  • Experience in commercial real estate, credit analysis, or financial services

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across Acquisitions, Underwriting, Portfolio Management, and Finance to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights
  • Develop and maintain datasets and reporting tools that support business analysis and decision-making
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to portfolio performance, acquisitions, and customer behavior
  • Create and deliver reports, dashboards, and visualizations that clearly communicate key insights to leadership
  • Support the development and enhancement of data models and business logic, including source-to-target mappings
  • Collaborate with data science and business teams to develop and refine models used to evaluate customer profitability and risk
  • Evaluate business processes and data flows to identify opportunities for efficiency, automation, and improved data quality
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and data definitions to support consistency and scalability
  • Provide updates to stakeholders on project progress, findings, and recommendations
