Business Analyst- Commercial Insurance
About The Position
The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business stakeholders and Information Technology, supporting system enhancements, business initiatives, and process improvements within Commercial Insurance operations. The role combines business analysis, ticket administration, requirements documentation, testing, and defect management across the software development lifecycle. Commercial Insurance experience is a core requirement. The position supports multiple concurrent initiatives and requires managing competing priorities, adapting to changing business needs, and maintaining progress in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is self-motivated, organized, quick to learn, able to work independently, and effective at collaborating with business and technical teams.
Requirements
- Commercial Insurance experience.
- Experience supporting business projects, system implementations, process improvements, testing efforts, or technology initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivation and strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments, and drive work to completion with minimal oversight.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and business concepts.

- Experience with policy administration systems such as Diamond, Cover-All, or comparable insurance platforms.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to support solution design and implementation.
- Manage requests, enhancements, and defects through the development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain requirements, project documentation, and process flows.
- Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases to validate system functionality.
- Perform manual testing of enhancements, defect fixes, and system changes.
- Assist with regression testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Research reported issues, document findings, and coordinate defect resolution.
- Apply Commercial Insurance knowledge to evaluate business requirements and system functionality.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
