The Business Analyst works in the IT department to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies for the company. The Business Analyst works with the business user to determine cause of issues and determines appropriate personnel involvement and provides ongoing support and resolution to clients. This role acts as a liaison between business users and information systems by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. The Business Analyst provides technical assistance in identifying, designing and specifying systems and procedures that are cost effective, efficient and meet business requirements and corporate strategic goals. They provide business consultation, define business requirements, and analyze project impacts (business and systems). The Business Analyst performs an analysis of the facts and identifies potential solutions that will meet the business requirements. They prepare scope documents, system specifications and design recommendations for information system changes based on a thorough understanding of the business area and processes. The Business Analyst facilitates and understands data capture and tracking requirements defined by the business to monitor and improve projects and processes. They develop and deliver project-related presentations to gain consensus for final approval to move forward with the project. The Business Analyst works with the business user to determine the cause of issues and determines appropriate personnel involvement (IT hardware, software, user, training, etc.) and either fixes/resolves the issue or sends it to the appropriate IT person to make programming repairs to the system. They make recommendations to management on system and procedure improvements to ensure a safer, more reliable and accurate system and interface interaction.
