About The Position

The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to support effective solution delivery. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, translated into actionable specifications, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Business Analyst plays a key role in driving clarity, improving processes, and enabling successful project outcomes through robust analytical and communication skills. The Business Analyst will report to the Head of Digital Product.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience of Business Analyst experience, with foundational experience supporting Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance initiatives.
  • Robust understanding of the end-to-end insurance lifecycle, including underwriting, policy administration, claims, and billing processes.
  • Demonstrated strength in facilitation and stakeholder management, with the ability to engage, influence, and align cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience developing high-quality documentation, including BRDs, FRDs, and SRS, as well as managing and refining product backlogs in partnership with Product Owners & Managers.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Rally, with hands-on experience supporting Agile delivery teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter or similar Underwriting platforms.
  • Experience supporting Underwriting initiatives and data-related migration, reporting, and/or system integrations.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Guidewire certifications, IIBA (e.g., CBAP) or Agile certifications (e.g., CSPO) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering and documentation for business and technology initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to elicit, validate, and maintain clear, comprehensive, and traceable requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct impact assessments and gap analyses to evaluate current-state processes, identify risks and dependencies, and recommend solutions that address business needs while aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable deliverables, including user stories, functional specifications, and process models, ensuring clarity for technical teams and alignment with desired outcomes.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors, facilitating effective communication, managing expectations, and ensuring alignment across all parties involved in solution delivery.
  • Support testing activities, including test planning, test case development, and execution oversight, as well as coordinating defect triage to ensure issues are accurately identified, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.
