About The Position

This position is responsible for supporting Work Management Operations (WMO) Consolidated Planning responsibilities and processes. Major accountabilities include ensuring standardized long-range planning processes are utilized across the Utility Operations service area, supporting and collaborating with operations leadership in using and understanding long-range planning tools and reports, presenting consolidated planning work plans and results to operations leadership up to senior levels, providing updated work plans to short-term planning personnel, ensuring booked man-hours align with budgeted hours and reporting variances, and championing change and innovation for work efficiencies. This role also supports Work Management initiatives and implements process and performance improvements.

Requirements

  • Two or four year degree in a related discipline is preferred, with minimum 2 years relevant work experience preferred. In lieu of a degree, 2-4 years relevant experience required.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and make recommendations based upon analytics.
  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to implement and articulate guidelines and procedures.
  • Questioning attitude and willingness to challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and facilitating recurring meetings to discuss work plans for all line shops within the area of responsibility, including short-term planning personnel, the Operations Manager, and Engineering personnel.
  • Collecting agreed-upon target changes for remaining work and absences through meetings and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Entering collected data into a change log and providing it to the database administrator for implementation.
  • Preparing, publishing, and/or distributing WMO Consolidated Planning reports.
  • Supporting and championing Consolidated Planning systems and processes for FirstEnergy Utility Operations.
  • Promoting safety and safe work practices.
  • Providing storm support, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Filling a supporting role to management and business partners, providing consistent service, continuous support, and proactive involvement.
  • Recommending and developing solutions to issues and assignments.
  • Supporting process improvement activities through collaboration with other corporate departments.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and efficiencies to improve overall Work Management Consolidated Planning Functions.
  • Anticipating and meeting internal and external customer needs.
  • Conducting business-specific research, analyzing work plan data, interpreting results, and assisting in corrective action implementation.
  • Participation in the development of WMO Consolidated Planning programs and policies.
  • Occasional travel to meetings, trainings, etc.
