About The Position

The Business Analyst / Technical Documentation Specialist will support the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) on this staff augmentation engagement. This role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs, while formulating solutions that support overall business strategies. The candidate will work closely with IT developers, analysts, and Contract Management Support (CMS) staff to develop and maintain clear, user -friendly documentation for internal applications. A strong background in data analysis, business process reengineering, and requirements gathering is essential to success in this position.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.
  • 8 years of experience and thorough understanding of the business analysis areas of knowledge and its associated activities and tasks.
  • 8 years of experience participating in software development reviews and providing advice and assistance to other team members in analysis, design, and testing.
  • 8 years of experience performing or participating in unit testing, support system testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • 8 years of demonstrated skill in planning and organizing work to meet goals and complete multiple assignments without compromising accuracy.
  • 8 years of experience in software development lifecycle methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • 8 years of experience with effective verbal and written communications with both IT and business professionals and clients.
  • 2 years of experience creating user -focused technical or instructional documentation.
  • 2 years of experience developing or maintaining screenshots or other visual aids to support user documentation.
  • 2 years of demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and translate technical concepts into plain language.
  • Experience as a Data Analyst in analyzing raw data.
  • Experience in business process reengineering and industry -standard business process mapping.
  • Project management experience; PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs to identify opportunities for improvement and technology application.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business community and Customer IT Teams, including Architecture, Project Delivery, and Application Sustain functions.
  • Collaborate with IT developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand application functionality and enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, how -to documents, and other application -related documentation for end users.
  • Create and maintain visual aids, including screenshots and step -by -step visuals, to support written instructions.
  • Prepare solution options, risk identification, and financial analyses such as cost/benefit, ROI, and buy/build assessments.
  • Organize and present technical information in a clear, concise, and accessible manner for non -technical audiences.
  • Update documentation and visual materials to reflect new features, enhancements, or system changes developed by IT staff.
  • Participate in meetings, demos, and walkthroughs to gather information on system changes and updates.
  • Assist in the development and updating of training materials as needed.
