Let's grow together! This is a temporary position for a Maternity Leave Replacement, Full Time (40 hours) role, reporting to the Manager of Retail Systems based in Laval, QC. The position requires extensive operational and business knowledge of Store Systems for convenience stores and fuel operations along with a very good working knowledge of corporate Systems (Merchandising, Fuel, Accounting, Marketing). The responsibilities involve coordination of requests for enhancements from Stakeholders and compiling them into a release for the required systems. The position also involves documentation for various activities regarding new version releases including: Analyzing proposed enhancements from vendors; Collaboration with QA on the drafting of QA & UAT test plans including test cases; and drafting of communication plans for end users. The candidate will also be an intricate resource and be the lead liaison for the Retails Systems Team regarding demands from the operations and fuel teams.

Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in related area.
  • Extensive knowledge of Retail Systems within a store environment.
  • Good understanding of convenience stores and fuel station environments.
  • Excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good functional knowledge of programming languages.
  • Project coordination skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products
  • Understanding of ERP systems, key architecture points and overall structure.
  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Works as a lead member of the Retail systems team with functional and operational knowledge of the NCR Radiant system and the Bulloch system
  • Defining development, testing and documentation of business requirements and deliverables on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
  • Participates in defining the development and project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Leads the definition of the business requirements that are related to the Retail Systems. (i.e. C-stores and Fuel)
  • Plan, facilitate and lead workgroups with internal and external stakeholders to gather, define, analyze and validate business, process, functional, and data requirements and business rules for selected systems.
  • Provides support to the user community: training, error solving, system enhancement recommendation, expert office automation advice, query building, etc.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining user manuals to represent current and future systems.
  • Creates risk assessment analysis representing a complete and realistic course of probable events.
  • Responsible for ensuring system testing, QA & UAT are properly executed and documented according to the department policies.
  • Train end users to operate new and existing store systems technology.
  • Liaison with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products and projects.
