About The Position

The Business Analyst III is responsible for serving as the liaison between the business and IT in translating complex business needs into application software. This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless accommodation is granted as required by law.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years business analysis experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations is strongly preferred.
  • PBM and pharmacy knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with multiple membership demographics including Medicaid, Medicare, GRS, Commercial, and MEWA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with retail pharmacy and medical injectable (specialty pharmacy) benefits and nuances strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile/Safe practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex end user needs to determine optimal means of meeting those needs.
  • Determines specific business application software requirements to address complex business needs.
  • Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
  • Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.
  • Acts as a resource to users of the software to address questions/issues.
  • May provide direction and guidance to team members and serves as an expert for the team.
  • Lead discovery and requirements refinement sessions to uncover customers’ business, functional requirements and synthesize requirements to create clear and comprehensive high level and detail business requirements with acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize multiple efforts including but not limited to mandates, implementations, and operational support across multiple lines of business for both pharmacy and medical injectable (specialty pharmacy) benefits.
  • Develops requirement traceability metrics enabling traceability to both the project plan and test plan.
  • Partner with cross functional teams – business, programming, and testing staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.
  • Utilize Blueprint requirements management tool to document business requirements, obtain stakeholder signoff, and manage requirements through project lifecycle end to end processes ensuring smooth transition and requirements traceability to technical partners.
