About The Position

Contractor shall provide program analysis support associated with the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science Biological and Environmental Research. This role involves serving as the primary office analyst for BER program data, analyzing the BER website and program briefing materials, and planning, scheduling, and conducting projects to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of work operations within BER. The position also includes administrative support for the front office, acting as the primary executive assistant to the Associate Director, which involves scheduling meetings, completing time and attendance, and assisting with correspondence. Job duties may be modified, expanded, or reassigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or another scientific or technical discipline
  • A minimum of one year of experience working on IT projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a professional, polished style
  • Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), database tools, and document control systems
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure solutions meet business needs
  • Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Sound technical knowledge

  • ECBA or CCBA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary office analyst for BER program data, including user facilities.
  • Provide analysis of the BER website and program briefing materials, combining technical content provided by the program managers with program data analysis.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of work operations within BER, especially with respect to program direction and travel priorities.
  • Prepare project papers and reports and organize and deliver briefings to managers to encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
  • Analyzes office and workforce trends and makes recommendations for improved operating efficiency, including developing standard operating procedures and best practices documentation.
  • Develop familiarity with BER financial assistance (PAMS) and lab funding activities in order to evaluate processes and make recommendations for improved office operations.
  • Provide assistance with special projects related to interagency activities, including developing products for presentation to senior agency staff.
  • Provide assistance with budget data calls and analysis in relation to budget initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for the front office, serving as the primary executive assistant to the Associate Director.
